Ivan.D.Ramirez

I am the Co-founder & Partner of Zerimar Ventures, a boutique investment firm that my wife Angela and I founded in 2012. I was Born in Guadalajara de Buga, a city and municipality in the Valle del Cauca Department of Colombia. I moved to the U.S. with my father in 1984 and have been educated in the states since then, except for two years during junior high, when I went back to Colombia to experience life in the country that gave me birth. Those two years refined my entrepenurial skills by working with my mother buying and selling commodities like grains, coffee, and SARDINES ("Sardines to Tech"). 

I am in love with my little family (wife Angela, and son's Camilo and Sebastian), the hustle of life, raising a ruckus with disruptive tech, entrepreneurship and business. I have an ongoing drive to take on challenges and look for ways to do things better. 

I have founded and co-founded several companies such as such as Brandbuy.com, CommerceInterface, and De La Terra. I should also metion that all the experience gained throughout the years has been thanks to opportunities given to me during the seven and a half years spent at Overstock.com. There I was employee twenty-three, and climbed the latter to eventually serve as their VP of Business Development before departing to start CommerceInterface in 2007.

In 2012 CommerceInterface was sold to Groupon, where the technology went on to power the Groupon Goods supply chain in 38 countries and manage over $2.5 billion in transactions. There I spent twelve months as Director of Global product for Groupon Goods, and six months as the VP of Groupon Goods for Asia Pacific. 

I now spend most of my time on the ground (very little travel now) with family, advising startups, and in some cases knee deep in helping the Zerimar Ventures portfolio companies grow. I also consult for non portfolio companies that are looking to expand their technology product, launch a disruptive tech product, or drive a product culture within their organization.
